Hey everyone 👋🏻 Long time no post… I just wanted to let everyone know how greatful I am for all of your support on this blog and all the love you have for the flock and I. Running this blog the last 3 years was so much fun and it was so great connecting with the birblr community. I also want to tell you all that even though I am no longer posting here, I have continued to post on my instagram (same url). Our flock has expanded with the addition of 2 new members: Harley (left/grey) and Charley (right/yellow). If you have interest in continuing to following the flock’s journey, I highly suggest checking out the instagram.

Thank you all so much ♡

I wanted to tell you something that might ease your pain just a bit. Birds, rodents, and other small pets tend to hide symptoms of illness instinctively because in the wild, it would make them more vulnerable to predators. I had a Guinea pig who seemed fine one day and then had pneumonia the next and he died overnight as well. Please dont blame yourself for what happened: it's clear to anyone who followed you how much you loved Piper. Be well <3

I think I’ve heard this before… it’s very unfortunate but it’s just their nature…

Thank you 💞

im just now seeing the news about piper and im so sorry!! id like you to know that i follow quite a few birblr blogs but piper has always been mine and my two cockatiels favorite. my girls love listening to piper and he/she helped them come out of their shell when i first adopted them so i am forever grateful to the two of you for that. piper is going to live on in you and all of his/her audience and truly be a star that will never dim. i wish you the best in your recovery ❤️

Aw I’m glad he was able to help your birds 💞

I'm so terribly sorry to hear about the loss of Piper. I loved seeing his sweet little face appear on my dash. I lost my little lutino tiel, Nigel in January of last year in a similar way. I took him to the vet as soon as I noticed a change in his behaviour but despite every effort being made he passed away barely a week later. I was utterly devastated, as I'm sure you are too. The one thing that helped me through the pain was a friend telling me how loved Nigel was. Piper was loved. <3

That’s exactly what happened to Piper :”(

It’s devastating losing a companion this way, and just how quick it happened was unexpected.

It started with pneumonia and I got medicine from the vet and he seemed to be getting better but a few days later he could’nt use his right foot at all and the next day he could’nt use his left, so we had an emergency vet visit that morning and then sometime that night he passed. I can’t help but blame myself and think this all could’ve been avoided. I also feel bad that I wasn’t there for his final breaths. I just hope that he wasn’t in pain.

It’s still very difficult for me to think/talk about because I start crying. I miss being to lay with him every night and his version of “If You’re Happy And You Know It”.

i had to pause so many times whilst writing this so i wouldnt cry lol birblr ask

Oh no, I only just now saw the post about Piper"s passing... he always looked so sweet and comfy in the pics and vids and it always made me so happy to see him, and I could see how loved he was and always will be...

Aw thank you <3 I’m glad he made you happy!

He will continue to be loved by me and many others who have met or seen him. And hopefully he can continue to make dark days light and sad days happy ones.

I'm gonna share this on anon but I wanted to say that I'm really sorry for your loss. My cockatiel of ten years passed away in 2015 and it absolutely crushed my soul and it makes my heart ache to know that you lost yours so soon, but if it's any comfort, wherever they may be, I'm positive that they're looking down on us, being our little guardian angels that'll always shield us from what harm they can. Heck! Maybe Piper and my Pebbles became friends where they are! :)

Thank you, I’m sorry to hear about your cockatiel as well. It’s very hard losing such a good friend.

I’m sure all birdies that have passed on are all friends in birdie heaven :”)
